Bird Sounds in an Old Beech Forest • Clear Summer Morning
Sleep timer — stops the video after:

one take, no music

Bird sounds recorded on a clear summer morning deep in an old beech forest. Just birdsong and the rustle of leaves — no wind, no music.

The mic picked up layer after layer of bird calls, the occasional leaf rustle in the canopy above. That's what this forest sounds like at the center of it. We walked through beech forest the entire time to reach this spot: moss-thick stumps, last year's leaves still covering the ground, sunlight just starting to come through. Hammock and lunch were worth all that walking. No mushrooms, for the record.

Gear: Zoom F3, Rode NT1, smartphone camera — static shot, single take. It sounds beautiful; I keep thinking about upgrading to an ambisonic microphone for a place like this. Recorded together with my son, who is on the autism spectrum.
