Bird Sounds That Don't Stop | Flooded Forest Backwater in Summer
🗓 summer, clear🎙 Lumix S5, Zoom F3, NT1, MKE 600⏱ 1 h 47 min✅ no music, no AI
Bird sounds that take the edge off a stressful day, thick over a flooded forest backwater and close enough to identify. Daytime nature sounds, no music, no cuts.
Birds going the whole time, one starting before the last one finishes, all of it coming back off flat water. No wind. We'd driven out to explore a new area with nowhere particular in mind and found an old river backwater by accident, fallen tree trunks half-submerged in slow-moving water, a flooded oxbow nobody would plan a trip to, so we stopped and stayed. Sit down, make a coffee, and just listen to the forest sing. A hammock and a few hours of total rest, and you can already feel autumn creeping in.
Real field recording, no music, no AI. MKE600 aimed at the water with the Rode NT1 running as a background mic, static shot, Panasonic Lumix S5 into a Zoom F3. Lossless copies live on Patreon.
We'll be back. Places like this are worth returning to.
Q: Is this real or AI-generated? A: Real field recording from a flooded river channel in summer forest, captured on a Zoom F3 with a Sennheiser MKE600 and a Rode NT1 as background. No music, no AI.
Q: When is this best to listen to? A: It's a bright daytime recording that runs 1 hour 47 minutes, so it suits a working afternoon, a long read, or a nap rather than a whole night.

Field notes
A backwater of an old river in the forest, with fallen trunks in the water and slow-moving water. Summer.
Another place found by chance — on a trip to a new area we came across this gem.
It's good to sit here, make a coffee and listen to the forest sing. It helps. A hammock and a few hours of total rest — you can already sense autumn slowly coming.
MKE 600 aimed at the water, NT1 for the background.
