Deep Sleep in an Old Beech Forest | Bird & Woodpecker Sounds
Bird sounds with woodpecker calls recorded at a lakeshore inside an old beech forest in early spring. Songbirds, drumming woodpeckers, and a light wind through bare branches. Daytime, no rain.
A hammock strung between two beech trunks right at the water's edge — the lake visible through the branches, last year's leaves still on the ground. We were hiking a loop around the lake but exhaustion caught us halfway. Quick decision to stay. My son slept in the hammock while I stood watch and left the recorder running. Woodpeckers active throughout, songbirds layered underneath. Light wind, no traffic, no voices. Mic on a KFZ stand, stationary, 32-bit float with auto gain off — no clipping, no noise reduction, no filters.
Gear: Zoom F3 + Sennheiser MKE600, Rode NT1, Rode cables, KFZ stand.
This is a father-son project. Recorded together with my son, who is on the autism spectrum. We're guests in this place — we just stayed awhile and listened to what it had to offer.
A real single-take outdoor field recording by Nature Sounds Therapy — a father-and-son duo. No music, no narration, no AI.
