Cricket Sound for sleeping — black screen, 11 hours of crickets recorded at the edge of a forest meadow on a summer evening. Nothing to watch, just the insects and the quiet air around them.

The spot was a wide grass meadow pressed up against the treeline. We set up in the last warm hour of the day, when the crickets were already going in the dry grass and the forest behind had gone still. Once the levels were set, we walked away: the microphones stayed alone in the meadow for several hours in the dark while we slept hundreds of meters off. No one was present for the whole session — no footsteps, no voices, no gear being touched, only the meadow doing what it does when nobody is standing in it.

What you hear is dense, layered chirping from all directions, closer insects in the grass right by the mics and a softer wash of them further out across the field. Between the cricket layers there are faint nature sounds from the forest edge and the slow movement of night air. No music, no added effects, no narration.

Recorded with a Zoom F3 and two Rode NT1 microphones in an A-B pair. Real field recording — no music, no AI.

The picture is a single static black frame from the first second to the last, so there is nothing to light up the room and nothing to pull your eyes open — you can set your device down and just listen as you settle in.

Q: Is this real or AI-generated? A: Real field recording from a summer meadow beside a forest, captured with a Zoom F3 and two Rode NT1 microphones — no music, no AI.

Q: Can I sleep with this on all night? A: The file runs 11 hours, so you can start it at bedtime and it will still be playing long after you fall asleep. Keep the volume low and steady.
