Four hours of birdsong and quiet water sounds recorded at a lake in central Poland, midday in spring. Sunny, no wind. You'll hear songbirds, a woodpecker working the trees, ducks, swans, insects, and a soft lapping at the grass-lined shore.

Gear: Rode NT1, Sennheiser MKE600, Lumix S5. We set the mics at the water's edge, then climbed the hill above to make lunch and sleep in the hammock for a couple hours. The salt ran out — as it always does. No filters, no noise reduction, no AI. It's not perfect. Neither is nature.

Recorded together with my son, who is on the autism spectrum. We keep coming back to places like this because the sounds are steady and the day slows down.
