Cricket Sound for sleeping — black screen, 10 hours of crickets chirping in a summer meadow. Screen stays dark from the first second, nothing to watch, nothing to wake you.

This was recorded in a large meadow on a warm summer evening. We came for a short session at dusk, but the crickets were so loud and beautiful that we decided to stay in the meadow overnight and keep the microphones running. What you hear is that night: thousands of crickets spread out across the grass, some close to the mics, others far off at the edge of the field, layering into one wide, even wall of chirping that slowly settles as the hours pass.

Gear: Zoom F3 recorder with a Sennheiser MKE600 and a Rode NT1 — the shotgun for the detail in the nearby grass, the NT1 for the broad, open air of the whole meadow.

No birds on this one. By the time the recording starts the evening chorus is over, so there is nothing sudden, no calls or flutters to pull you back out of sleep. Just crickets, steady and unbroken, the way a summer field actually sounds after dark.

Real field recording — no music, no AI.

Screen off, let it run overnight.

Q: Is this real or AI-generated? A: Real field recording from a large summer meadow, captured with a Zoom F3, Sennheiser MKE600 and Rode NT1 — no music, no AI.

Q: Can I sleep with this on all night? A: Yes — it runs 10 hours, so you can start it at bedtime and it will still be playing in the morning. The volume stays level throughout, with no sudden changes.
