River Sound for sleeping — black screen, 12 hours of river white noise for sleep, recorded in the Slovak Tatras. The screen stays dark from the first second to the last.

This was a summer session beside a Tatra river running full and fast over stone. The water does all the work here: a broad, even wash of white noise with no birds close enough to stand out, no voices, no traffic — just moving water from dusk through the night.

Two microphones were deployed at the same time. The Sennheiser MKE600 was aimed directly down at the water surface for the close detail — the fast, bright grain of current breaking around rocks. The Rode NT1 was set further back to capture the ambient depth behind it, the wider sound of the valley holding that river. Blended together they give you both the near hiss and the low body of the water, which is what makes it sit so easily in a dark room.

Recorded with Panasonic Lumix S5, Zoom F3, Rode NT1 and Sennheiser MKE600. Real field recording — no music, no AI. Screen off, let it run overnight, or use it as a natural alternative to a white noise machine while you sleep.

Q: Is this real or AI-generated? A: Real field recording from the Slovak Tatras, captured with Panasonic Lumix S5, Zoom F3, Rode NT1 and Sennheiser MKE600 — no music, no AI.

Q: Can I sleep with this on all night? A: Yes — it runs 12 hours, so you can start it at bedtime and it will still be playing when you wake up. Set a comfortable low volume and leave the screen dark.
