What does a creek sound like?
A creek sounds like soft, continuous babbling: a light, bright ripple made of many small water sounds, with little gurgles and trickles where the water spills over stones.

Stream Sounds for Relaxation • Shallow Rocky Creek, Bieszczady
A river sounds deeper and fuller, a broad low rush, because more water moves over larger stones. A creek or stream is higher and lighter, and the sound changes with the width of the bed and the shape of the stones. Shallow rocky water gives a bright babble; deeper pools give a low gurgle.
The sound also changes with the weather. After rain a creek is louder and fuller, and in a dry summer it can shrink to a trickle. Birds near the water often join in, which is why creek recordings usually have a quiet layer of birdsong behind the water.
Our creek and stream recordings are real places: a shallow rocky creek in Bieszczady and forest brooks with birds, each one a single take with nothing added. Three of them are below if you want to hear it.
